Edward "Jack" Calvin Jennings passed away on August 30, 2023, at the age of 81 in Atlantic City, NJ. He was born on July 2, 1942, in Halifax County, Virginia to his parents, Charles and Virginia Jennings. Jack was a beloved member of his community, known for his kind heart and willingness to help others.
Jack moved from Virginia to NJ as a young man who worked as a proud butcher at Weganheim's Meat Market before beginning his career at the Atlantic City Police Department as a Police Officer in the Narcotics Department. However, he later resigned to pursue his dream as a self-employed electrician. Known for being handy and talented, Jack was considered the "Jack of all trades." He truly enjoyed his work as an electrician but was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Jack, as he was affectionately called, loved to spend time with his closest friends at Dave's Store in Atlantic City before starting his work day. He took great pride in assisting others in any way he could. Jack will be remembered for his generosity and the impact he had on those around him.
He is survived by his brothers, Malachi Jennings (Annette) and Midvale Jennings; his daughter, L'Oreal Foye (Larry); one son, five grandchildren, and other beloved family and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Virginia Jennings; his brother, Charles Jennings; and his daughters, Alisa Anne Roberts and Crystal Jennings.
A private service will be held for the family to honor and celebrate Jack's life. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
