Edward Jinks Jr.

Edward Jinks, Jr. (86), of Lyndhurst, NJ, passed away on, Monday, June 12, 2023.
Ed Jinks was born to Edward and Marie Jinks, on September 15, 1936, in Irvington, New Jersey. He was a classic New Jersey family man. He worked incredibly hard as a mason retiring in 1997. Ed always picked up odd jobs to give his family a good life and build a home for anyone who needed a place to lay their head.
He didn't hesitate to extend his hand, his hammer or his home to those who were in need. He was an avid woodworker and like the wooden pieces he created, Ed was simple and plain. He made it clear that he was not an artist or too creative, but like the footstools, coat racks, benches and chairs he crafted, Ed was solid, reliable, dependable and ready to stand the test of time.
Ed is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marlene Jinks, née Schneider, by their 7 sons and their wives, Edward, 3rd and Mary, Robert and Debby, Thomas and Ellen, Kenneth and Gina, Lawrence and Natalie, Timothy and Jennifer and James and Nicolle.
"Poppa" is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Edward, 4th and Hannah Jinks, Beth and Mike Coletta, Kenneth and Loren Jinks, Kimberly and Ron Masi, Wes and Rachel Gossett, Ashley Jinks, Krista Jinks and fiancé, Francis, Brooke Jinks, Thomas and Amelia Jinks, Kevin and Melissa Jinks, Michael, Nicholas, Joshua, Evan and Ethan Jinks. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Aerilyn, Ellie, Edward, 5th, Ryan, Michael, Andrew, Kenneth, Darby, Sylvia, Noah, Elaine, Lillian and Lucille and by his furry friend, Wanda.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Van Tassel Funeral Home, 337 Belleville Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 10am – 12pm. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Edward's name.
