Edward Thomas Joseph

Edward ("Tyke") Thomas Joseph passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8th surrounded by his wife and three children. During his last year of life, he endured a handful of health issues, but he never complained and kept a positive outlook on life despite his suffering. Ed was strong-willed, stubborn, extremely generous and proud. He would drop everything at a moment's notice and move mountains for his friends and family when they needed his help. He fiercely loved his family and made sure even in his last moments they knew how much they meant to him. His three kids were his pride and joy. He loved hunting, fishing and old muscle cars. Ed will be remembered for his love of rare prime rib, diet coke, his dedication to opening hunting weekend, and countless trips to Menards to buy new tools because he "couldn't find" the one he put away in the garage. Some of his greatest joys in life included cutting hunting trails in Wisconsin, weekly dinners with his shooting team, and watching his grandkids run around the house. He was born to Amelia and Edward Joseph on June 2nd, 1945 and was the oldest of 4 siblings. He was raised on the West Side of Saint Paul and attended Hill High School (now known as Hill Murray) where he played football and made many memories and lifelong friendships. Telling stories about his younger years always brought a smile to his face. He is survived by his wife Jill, son Jason (Angie), daughters Michelle (Ron) and Rachel (Travis), his 8 grandchildren as well as his two sisters Amelia (Cliff) and Mickey. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Amelia and his brother Tony.
As requested by Ed, there will not be a funeral or wake because Ed did not want his family and friends to be sad when he "went home to deer hunt and never came back."
