Edward Kaczmarczyk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mt. Baker Cremation Society - Mount Vernon on Mar. 2, 2026.
Edward W. Kaczmarczyk, 72, went to be with Jesus on February 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Amsterdam, New York, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Kaczmarczyk. He was raised in rural Providence, Saratoga County, alongside his four siblings. A 1972 graduate of Galway High School, Ed enlisted in the United States Navy, faithfully serving his country from 1972 to 1980. During his service, he was stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station teaching electricity, where he developed a deep appreciation for the Pacific Northwest. He later made Skagit County his lifelong home.

Ed was married to Renita W for 32 years, and together they raised three children. They remained committed to their children and family throughout the years. Later, in 2008, he married Pamela, who remained faithfully by his side. Professionally, Ed devoted 33 years of service to Skagit Valley Community College as the college electrician and mechanic, where he was known for his skill, reliability, and dedication.

A devoted member of North Cascades Christian Church, Ed served on the church board for more than three years and volunteered faithfully with Gleaners, an organization created to save good food from going into landfills. He found great joy in the outdoors-especially hunting, fishing, gardening, and cutting firewood for his home and for others. His passion for the outdoors rubbed off on his children, who shared that joy with him as often as possible along with telling hunting and fishing stories, tending his garden-especially his robust tomato plants-was a source of pride and frequent conversation, as he happily shared the fruits of his labor.

Remembered for his kindness, warm smile, and generous heart, Ed was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He took great pride in helping his children with repairs and projects of nearly every kind. Whether it was fixing a leaky faucet, rewiring a light, or offering steady, practical advice, he was always just a phone call away. His children knew they could count on both his skilled hands and his wise counsel. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ed is predeceased by his older brother, Raymond Kaczmarczyk.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; the mother of his children, Renita W; his daughter, Erin and her husband, PJ S; his sons, Eric and David, two sister and brother in-laws, Gail and Ken, Cheri and Lee; his sisters, Elaine Rozniewski, Stephanie Kaczmarczyk, and Joan Kaczmarczyk; seven cherished grandchildren and four great grandchildren: and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
