Edward Kaplan

Edward Kaplan, 82, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026. Born May 20, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Morris and Marion (Mariamoff) Kaplan.

Edward built a long and respected career as an electrician with Local 3 in New York City, dedicating more than 40 years to his trade. He was known for his strong work ethic, steady presence, and commitment to safety on the job.

He was the devoted husband of the late Ellen Kaplan, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Edward enjoyed traveling with Ellen, often accompanying her on business trips across the country and later exploring parts of Europe together. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and took great pride in his yard and garden. In retirement, he fulfilled a longtime dream by moving to a horse farm in Pennsylvania, where he embraced the peace and simplicity of country living.

Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Kaplan Morse and her husband, David; his son, Brian Kaplan and his wife, Marjorie; and his cherished grandchildren, Rebecca and Kevin Morse, and Zoey Kaplan. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce Kaplan and his wife, Ann; his sister, Barbara Goldstein; and many loving nieces and nephews.
