Edward V. Kempf

Ed "Pa-Paw" Kempf Born March 26, 1947. Passed away February 25, 2014. Born to Lloyd and Minnie Kempf and raised in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Ed moved to Indiana in the late 60's. He worked in surgery and respiratory therapy at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he met his wife, Sally Wise of Terre Haute. They were married September 21, 1974 and have lived in Avon, Indiana to this day. He is survived by Sally and their three children, David (Janet), Jerry (Angela), and Kathy; 7 grandchildren, Alex, Brent, Jared, Austin, Elizabeth, Matthew, and Michael; and his brother, Earl. Ed became self employed in the early 70's, specializing in finish grading, landscaping, and concrete. He was always most at home in the outdoors. He loved to fish and hunt. The tales of the largemouth bass he sought after will live on. He was also actively involved in the Boy Scouts with his sons. Many family gatherings and church dinners enjoyed his labor of love with meat on the grill, adorned with his own special barbecue sauce. What brought him the most enjoyment of all was his family, as we all dearly miss him. Today, Jesus has a new fishing buddy. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 1 p.m., with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service at Conkle Funeral Home, Avon Chapel. Burial will be in West Ridge Park Cemetery.
