Edward J Kromi

Edward J. Kromi, 89, of Canton passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. He was born May 1, 1933 in Byesville, Ohio to the late Joseph and Anna (Galla) Kromi.
Edward graduated from McKinley High School class of 1952. He retired from Lesh Typesetting Company in 2005 after 52 years of service.
Edward was baptized in the Catholic Church and raised Catholic before becoming a member of a Deaf Church in 1974.
Edward was very active and belonged to many clubs and organization, Canton Silent Club, Akron/Canton Deaf Anglers/Camper Club, and Buckeye Deaf Camping. Edward was an active member of the deaf community and Deaf Outreach Church. He planned many deaf school reunions for class mates and many bus tours for Deaf Groups.
Edward enjoyed watching sports and cheering on the Indians, Browns, Bengals and Cavs He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, going on vacations, to Florida, Hawaii and taking Deaf Cruises, going to the cottage at Leesville Lake where he would go swimming, fishing, play cards and do lots of grilling and gardening. He also enjoyed walking in the park and the monument steps. Edward always kept good records of birthdays. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was so proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Edward is survived by his wife, Betty; five children, Regina Dickes (Tim Winnard), Brian Kromi, David (Kelly Notch) Kromi, Susan (John) Sowko and Linda Darrah; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Lytle, Jack (Sophie) Dickes, Evan (Cindy) Dickes, Mark (Marlene) Kromi, Rachel (Nate) Hofacre, Jessica Kromi, Adam Kromi, Steven Kromi, John (J.J) Sowko, Alex Sowko, Nick Sowko, Jordan Teixeira and April Darrah; 12 great grandchildren, Ayva Kromi, Juniper Kromi, Hannah Lytle, Theo Dickes, Emilia Dickes, Baby Dickes due in late March, Marissa Kromi, Ian Kromi, Jillian Hofacre, Oliva Hofacre, Blaire Hofacre, and Elsie Hofacre.
In honoring Edward's wishes he was cremated. The family will receive friends on Saturday October 29, 2022 from 12pm to 1pm at Deaf Outreach Church, 2200 Greensburg Rd. North Canton, Ohio 44720 with a celebration of life to follow at 1pm with Pastor Darwin Smith officiating.
