Edward D. Magauran

Magauran, Sr., Edward Donald, age 81, of Avalon, NJ, died November 9, 2015, with his family at his side. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. the son of the late Thomas J. Magauran, Sr. and Mae V. Flynn Magauran. He was a former resident of Delran and Cinnaminson, NJ and a resident of Avalon since 1999. He was employed as a tool and die maker for the Edel Tool and Tie, Vadco, Inc.; and Arthur J. Evers Corporation. Ed was building manager of Ocean View Condomimiums. Ed was a member of the United Methodist Church of Avalon; the Avalon Fishing Club and Pier and a member of the Pier's Board of Directors. He enjoyed fishing from the Avalon Pier and traveling throughout the United States. He is survived by his loving children: Edward D. Jr. and his wife, Marsha; Donna Carey and Deanna Raby and her husband, Glenn; a brother, James and his wife, Ann; a brother-in-law, F. Thomas Buckley; four grandchildren: Gregory Holzmann, Jonathan Holzmann, Kathryn Magauran and Jennifer Magauran and three great grandsons: Zachary Holzmann, Dylan Holzmann and Christopher Giberson. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty seven years, the former Mildred Hantwerker; a brother, Thomas J. Magauran and his wife, Ann and a sister in law, Joyce E. Buckley. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Avalon, 34th Street and Dune Drive, NJ. Interment is private.
