Edward (Ed) James McDaniels, age 75, passed away in the comfort of his home in Dagsboro, DE on May 24th 2025. He was born on December 11, 1949 in Philadelphia to Sara and Melvin McDaniels.
Ed attended North Catholic High School in Philadelphia and later graduated with his Bachelor's degree from Shippensburg University, where he met the love of his life and college sweetheart, Cindy. Following his education, Ed worked at the Budd Company, an automotive manufacturing factory. He served in several positions, working his way up the chain over the years and ultimately retiring as a Supervisor after over 40 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Cindy (Bostian) McDaniels, his two daughters, Kelly Thiebaud (Tom) and Alecia McDaniels (Jason), and his three grandchildren, Aidan, Ryleigh, and Emma. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Sara and Melvin McDaniels.
Ed enjoyed cruising and traveling to various destinations around the World. His favorites include his recent trips to Ireland, the Holy Land, and Alaska. He also liked traveling in his RV to campgrounds around the U.S. Ed enjoyed Happy Hours with his neighbors, boating on the Indian River, and he was an avid Philly sports fan. He was also a proud dog Dad and loved spending time with his two Irish setters, Molly and Clancy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Irish Eyes in Lewes, DE on June 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Relatives and friends are welcome.
