Mount Airy, North Carolina
Edward James Meagher
1954-2025
Edward James Meagher, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully from natural causes on November 19th, 2025, in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Born on June 7, 1954, in Rochester, New York, Eddie lived a life full of adventure, dedication, and love until the age of 71.
After his military service, Eddie worked for Kodak for over 30 years. First working in hospitality until he moved on to film production. His dedication to his craft was unwavering until his retirement, after which he sought the warmth of camaraderie by moving closer to friends he had met while serving in the military.
Eddie was a man of many passions. A true sports fan, he devotedly followed baseball, cheering for the Baltimore Orioles, and enjoyed watching European football. He had an affinity for cigars and a smooth bourbon, often accompanying evenings spent watching "Seinfeld" or indulging in his love for music-especially the blues and classic genres-while skillfully playing the harmonica.
His culinary talents were well-known among family and friends, as Eddie was not only a great cook but also a gifted baker. Above all, his greatest joy came from supporting his beloved daughter, Molly Harrington. Never missing an athletic event she participated in, Edward's pride in her accomplishments was evident to all who knew him.
Eddie is survived by his devoted daughter, Molly Harrington, and her husband Benjamin Harrington, of Livonia, New York. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Charles and Penelope Harrington, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his siblings, Charles (wife Judy) Meagher, Earl Meagher, Marie Meagher, and Vince Meagher, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart. A special thank you to his best pal Randy White and his wife, Laura Flashman and to his brothers of the USS-Von Steuben SSBN-632.
A celebration of Eddie's life will be held at a date yet to be announced, where family and friends will gather to remember the warmth, humor, and kindness that defined his years with us.
Edward James Meagher will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
