Edward Larry Muse

1941 - 2023

Edward Larry Muse, age 82, of Forest, VA went home to be with his Savior on Sunday, March 19, 2023. He was born on February 8, 1941 the only child of Charles and Ruby (Prescott) Muse.
Larry was a Business Administration Cum Laude' graduate of Upper Iowa University and completed undergraduate classes at the University of Maryland. He was employed at the Defense Department agency located at Ft. George G. Meade, MD for 41 years. Larry. a veteran, loved his country and faithfully served in the US Army. He was a member of the Phoenix Society. He attended Thomas Road Baptist Church, Lynchburg, VA before being confined to home (2018) for health reasons and Central Baptist Church in Conway, AR when visiting. He was the sound engineer at Halethorpe Community Church for several years.
Larry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hope (Vanaman) Muse; three children, Rebecca (John) Hyland of Forest, Virginia; Edward Jr. (Dana) Muse of Goode, Virginia; John (Jennifer) Muse of Ruckersville, Virginia; his five grandchildren, Hannah and Joshua Hyland, Edward III and Sara Muse, and Rylee Muse. Several cousins, especially Max Prescott of Shreveport, LA. Two sisters-in-law, Jane Vanaman, Confluence, PA and Laura Vanaman, Dundee, NY. His Conway friends, Jerry, Freddy, and Lee. Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry enjoyed helping coach sports teams when his children were young. He delighted in taking his children to vacation in Conway, AR each year to enjoy the pleasures of his home state. Taking his children fishing on Lake Conway. He was thrilled with the recent Razorback basketball win in the playoffs a few days before he passed. He also enjoyed woodturning and woodworking, making a rocking cradle for the first of each family's grandchildren as they came along. Shortwave radio and ham operating (really listening!).
Viewing will be at the Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory, Lynchburg, VA on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 6 to 7:00 p.m. and viewing will start 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Calvary Community Church, Confluence, PA with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Jersey Cemetery, Confluence, PA.
In his memory, donations may be made to Calvary Community Church, Confluence, PA or Samaritan's Purse working to provide help for others in the name of Jesus Christ.
