Edward G. “Eddie” O’Brien
Age 76 of Midlothian, Illinois passed away December 20, 2025.
Born in Chicago, Illinois on April 2, 1949, Eddie was a son of George Edward and Barbara Jean (Odekirk) O’Brien. He was raised and educated in Crestwood, Illinois. Eddie joined the United States Navy in 1967, serving aboard a destroyer before being honorably discharged in 1971. On March 21, 1970, Eddie married the love of his life, Rosemary Majcherek, at Saint Christopher Catholic Church in Midlothian. Together, they built a home rooted in love, laughter, and devotion, where they raised their two beautiful daughters.
Eddie was a professional truck driver and a proud member of Teamsters Local 710. He worked for Certified Grocers for over 20 years and later for ABF for six years, retiring in 2014. Eddie enjoyed his morning coffee and cherished the time spent visiting with friends at Dunkin. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan who enjoyed watching the games, sharing commentary, and celebrating the team with family and friends. Above all else, Eddie lived for his wife, children, and grandchildren, and their love was the greatest blessing of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; children: Connie Mysliwiec of Channahon, Illinois, Billie (Jay) Crippen of Carbondale, Illinois; grandchildren: Andrew Mysliwiec of Wilder, Kentucky, Courtney Mysliwiec of Channahon, Taylor and Jordyn Crippen of Carbondale.
Per Eddie’s wishes, no services will be held.
Preferred memorials may be made in Eddie’s memory to Wounded Warrior Project, support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
