Edward Mark Pantano, a resident of Guilford, Connecticut, passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 56.
Born on July 19, 1968, Ed was the cherished son of Paul and Rosemarie Pantano. A graduate of Fairfield Prep High School, he earned a bachelor's degree from Fordham University, and a master's degree from Yale University. Ed worked as a counsellor working with people with mental health conditions.
Ed was very proud of his five children, Larkin, Maryclaire, Eamon, Lizzie, and Catherine, all of whom survive him. He also leaves behind his mother Rosemarie, his siblings, their spouses, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A man of immense generosity, Ed was deeply involved in his community. His kindness, wisdom, and genuine care touched countless lives. He was charming, affable, and welcomed family and friends with hugs and a quick smile.
Ed had a passion for hiking and enjoyed the outdoors. These simple joys were where he found peace, and through them he forged special bonds with his friends.
A memorial service to honor Ed's life will be held this fall. In lieu of flowers, the Pantano family kindly requests donations to NAMI ().
Ed will be remembered for his thoughtful conversations and his heartfelt laughter.

I am sorry I am unable to attend his memorial this Saturday. He was such a good friend and valued member of our walking group. Sharing a photo from August 31, 2024 at NY Botanical Garden. He is truly missed.

I got to know Ed through my Meetup group. We became good friends, and he was like a brother to me. I enjoyed the hikes and walks we took with the group. I am devastated to hear of his passing. Sending my deepest sympathy to his family.

I had a couple of classes with Ed, mostly freshman and sophomore year at Prep. The man never said a bad word about anyone. And if he didn't greet you with smile on his face, something was terribly wrong. It is gratifying to know he became a counsellor, and a father. I can't imagine a better person for either gig.

Rest in peace, my friend.

I remember Ed's eccentricity, his confidence in that eccentricity. That's what made him likable to me. He just didn't give a rip. We sat at the same table at prom. Good times. Fair winds, Ed.
