The Rev. Edward Lewis Phillips passed into the more immediate presence of his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 28, 2022. He was 61 years old. Lewis served as Director of Music and Pastoral Assistant at Fairview Moravian Church for 19 years. Lewis studied Church Music at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He was born and raised in Talladega, Alabama.
Lewis was a talented organist, singer, choir director, Sunday School teacher, and worship leader. With Lewis, choir practice became a form of worship oriented toward the praise of God.
