Edward L. Pursell, 93, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on April 1, 1932 to Leonard and Esther (Lukens) Pursell in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Edward proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951-1954. He received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and worked as a Chemist for Eli Lilly Co. for over 37 years. Attending church was very important, and Edward also enjoyed watching sports, especially IU. Most of all, he cherished the time with his family, especially the babies.
Edward is survived by his wife of 69 years, Trudyanna Pursell; children, David (Vickie) Pursell, Shirley (Finley) Rennaker, and Kay Messenger; brother, Leonard (Roberta) Pursell; as well as 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Blackburn; son-in-law, Richard Blackburn; son-in-law, Jerry Messenger; and his brothers, David Pursell and Alfred Pursell.
In honor of Ed’s wishes, there will be no services, other than an intimate family gathering.
