"Eddie the Mailman" was a favorite in our neighborhood everyday! My four children made sure to tell me when Eddie was coming up Partridge Road. He always had lots to talk about to me and my children and even our dog! Once in a while he had time to sit in our screen house and have a cold drink since we enjoyed his company so much! He was the life of Pinehurst and our neighborhood! God Bless You, Dear Eddie!

I received a phone call this morning from Paul Dumas, about Eddie's passing. Paul, Jimmy Judd and I had been talking about visiting Eddie for the past 5 years. He was a Pinehurst Icon, a Living Legend, a down to Earth Nice Guy! He was Pinehurst thru & thru! I met him 60+ years ago, when I worked at the Pinehurst Market, he would come in everyday with the mail, chit chat with Barbara Blades, & wish us a Great Day. He came everyday, sun, rain, sleet & snow. He was always there! We will be there for him!
