Edward Scott Ramaley, age 67 of Crystal, passed away July 21, 2025 after fighting cancer for a second time. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Mary; his sons Seth (Hannah) and Dillon, with whom he shared many life lessons and adventures; his grandchildren Emeric, Saela, and Reilynn, whom he loved with all his heart; mother Mary Ellen Ramaley; siblings Jer (Kelly) Ramaley and Chris (Edwin) Klause; brother-and-sister-in-laws Mike (Sue) Snow and Julie (Steve) Gross; nieces and nephews Kendra (Riley) Heinrich, Andrea (Alec) Pesola, Cassie (Joe) Gross, Ryan (Afton) Gross, Haley (Marcus) Snow, and Jake Snow. He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Ramaley and father-and-mother-in-law Stanley and Viola Snow. Ed was born in 1958 and grew up in Brooklyn Center, MN. He graduated from Park Center High School in 1976. He met the love of his life, Mary, in 1978. They married in 1983 and made their home in
Crystal, MN, where they cherished a life together and raised their two sons. Ed had many talents and interests. Singing was something he did almost daily, for sure always in the car along to whatever was playing on the radio. An early career choice for Ed was as an assistant music therapy teacher at Fraser school, where he worked with pre-school children with mental and physical disabilities. He was very artistic, talented at drawing and creative in his career as a graphic designer. He liked to cook and use every pot or pan available in the kitchen. Ed appreciated nature and the beauty of Minnesota. It could be in a canoe, fishing, hunting, camping, or just bird watching. This was a passion shared with Mary and the boys. Ed rode dirt bikes in his teens and later in life enjoyed many rides on his Indian motorcycle. More than anything he loved his time spent with family and friends. If Ed knew your birth date, then he had it stored in his phones calendar, and on your birthday you would get a birthday text from him anywhere from 6 to 8am... central time, even if you were on the west coast. Ed's proudest achievement was being a father to Seth and Dillon. You see his impact on them in the how they carry themselves, treat and respect others, and in their own journeys in life that they are building. His greatest joy was his grandchildren. After he retired he had many babysitting opportunities, quite a few being with Saela... she called him "papa". He would handle bottle feeding, diaper changes, cuddles, and just being silly to get a smile or giggle. Ed was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
