On November 1, 1935, in a small town of Evergreen TX, Edward Ray Risner came into this world destined to touch the lives of those around him with his quiet strength.
Edward was a man of few words but a heart full of love and faith. His unwavering belief in God was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him through both joyous and challenging times
Edward proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958 – 1961. A chapter in his life that instilled in him values of discipline and perseverance. One of his proudest achievements was completing his GED in 1976, a testament to his determination and commitment to lifelong learning.
He was also a devoted husband, sharing 50 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife Margaret Jane Risner, who precedes him.
Edward found immense joy in the simple things in life, such as College Football, Dallas Cowboys, fishing and gardening. Everyone who knew him, knew of his passion for a good tamale or some fried catfish.
Edwards' presence was a steady and comforting one in the lives of those who knew him. His stubbornness was endearing, a sign of his steadfast and determination in all he did.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith through his children: daughters Debbie McClure, Denise Risner, Darla Morales, Dena Thornhill and son, Edward Ray Risner, Jr. His grandchildren: Tyler and Dylan Thornhill, Heather Gielczyk, Chris Hardy and Justin Morales.
His great-grandchildren: Hudson and Jenson Hardy and Gwen and Remi Gielczyk. His family was his pride and joy, and his memory will live on through them and the many lives he touched with his kindness and wisdom.
We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating Edward's life at the funeral service on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11:00 am, held at Central Baptist Church, located at 2221 N. Carroll Blvd., Denton, TX.
