Edward Sassano Obituary

Edward F. Sassano, 74, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Elmira, N.Y., died peacefully in his home on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, after enjoying homemade Pasta Fagioli (after all, he was only ever here for the food).
Ed was a loving husband to his wife, Patricia, of 54 years, who he always lovingly referred to as "his bride." His pride and joy was his large, close-knit family, which was made up of his wife, five daughters, sons-in-law, and 11 grandchildren. His deepest desire and life's mission was to see that every person who crossed his path came to know Christ and was brought the joy of the Lord. He led a life unashamedly on fire for God, and shared his passion for Jesus with his incredible family and various church families: Maranatha Bible Chapel, Victory Family Church and Revival Today Church.
Ed was a pioneer of radiologic technology. He opened the first ultrasound unit in the Southern Tier of New York at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, where he enjoyed working for 20 fulfilling years. He was then employed at Eastman Kodak Company Health Science for the 20 years following, which brought him to Pittsburgh. It was here that he concluded his career as an instructor of radiology equipment.
We are happy to share that Ed has now joined his Father in Heaven, and while his earthly life may have come to an end, his eternal one has just begun. If you are reading this and have any uncertainty concerning whether or not you, too, will join the Lord in Heaven when your life is over, Ed would want you to know that salvation is an option for you right now. All that you have to do in order to know for certain that you are going to Heaven when you die, is believe in your heart and confess that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior.
Ed was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lawrence and Mary Sassano; and his mother-in-law, Leona Kline.
Ed is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters, Lisa (Edward) Wolf, Kathy (Jason) Fiorenza, Terri (Jason) Stern, Lori (John) Goff and Chrissy (Doug) Kaufman; grandchildren, Elijah Stern, Isabella Stern, Emiliana Fiorenza, Benjamin (Tessa) Kaufman, Vincenzo Fiorenza, Norah Goff, Abby Kaufman, Sophia Goff, Matthew Kaufman and Sam Kaufman; brother, Larry J. (Patricia) Sassano; uncles, aunts, and numerous additional in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
SASSANO - Friends of Edward F. Sassano, who died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, will be received for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon Monday at BOYLAN-GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.
Ed will be laid to rest at the English Lutheran Cemetery in Zelienople.
In lieu of flowers, and because of Ed's passion to spread the gospel, his family wishes any donations be made out to his grandchildren's ministries: World Revival Ministries at worldrevival.co and Norah Goff Ministries at norahgoff.squarespace.com.

So sorry to hear of Ed´s passing. I first met him and Pat in a small group years ago. I remember him as a very positive, always smiling and very knowledgeable guy. I always enjoyed being in Rod and Kathleen´s home with them. I appreciated his strong Christian character and faith as he sat in front of me in Dr. Richard´s class for years. I´m sure he´ll be greatly missed. May God´s peace be with the family.
