Edward Siro

Edward Siro, 91, of Beach Lake, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 1, 2026, following a tragic house fire. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Dolores "Dell" (Proulx) Siro on December 13, 2025. The couple were married for 72 years.

Born on January 24, 1934 in New York City, he was the son of the late Martin and Anna (Selak) Siro. Ed drove bus for many years for Nassau County. After settling in Beach Lake, he worked for several years at the Wayne Independent in Honesdale.

He and Dell retired to Beach Lake where he found a deep appreciation for all the nature it had to offer. Edward was known for his love of chess, enjoying countless games with his cherished wife and friends. He looked forward to the warmth of family reunions at Pine Grove, where he created treasured memories with those he loved.

Above all, Edward was a devoted family man, deeply committed to his wife, children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his children, Deborah Andreas and husband Gary of Ridge, NY, Deanne Leggio and husband John of Shirley, NY, Edward M. Siro Jr. of Beach Lake and James Siro and wife Christine of Shirley, NY; his grandchildren, Carissa, Gary Jr. and Tyler Andreas, Jody, Johnny Jr., Dawn, Michelle, and Nicholas Leggio and Michael Siro; 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Martin Siro; his grandchildren, Nicole SIro and James Siro Jr..

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 9th at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Narrowsburg, NY at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.
