Edward Frank "Ed" Smith

Edward "Ed" Frank Smith, aged 86, of Ferndale, WA, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026. Born on July 21, 1939, in Manchester, Connecticut, Edward was the epitome of hard work, dedication, and love. Retired after 20 years in the United States Marine Corps, Edward was a proud veteran, with service in Vietnam. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He earned many awards and medals for his dedication and service to his country. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW.

After his military career, in his later years, he took on the role of a pipe layer in the construction industry. He took great pride and interest in his work, helping others and giving him a sense of purpose. Beyond his work, Edward was a devoted and loving husband to Rosario for 54 years. A beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, son and brother. He enjoyed doing yard work, watching old movies and TV shows and spending time with his wife. His quick wit, strong will, kindness and humor will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed.
