Edward Svatos Obituary
Ed grew up in Omaha and attended South High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving 22 years and retiring as a Sergeant First Class. Ed served in Vietnam, Germany and Kuwait for Operation Desert Storm. During his Army career he was stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen, TX, and Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, CO. Ed was known for his generosity, humor, and love of Nebraska Cornhusker football and the Denver Broncos.
He is survived by daughters Julia Drake and Michele Svatos; grandsons Aiden and Ethan Drake; mother Fern Svatos (108); siblings Fay Williams, Dee Svatos, Rick Svatos, and Craig Svatos. Preceded in death by father Otto Svatos and daughter Denise Baier.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, November 10, 2025, at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary in Papillion, NE, visitation 11:45 a.m., service 12:30 p.m. INTERMENT: Omaha National Cemetery, 2:30 p.m., with Military Honors.
