Ed's passions included carpentry and fine woodworking, fishing, jigsaw puzzles, and bird watching.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 750 Greenfield Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Saturday March 14, 2026 at 11AM with visitation beginning at 10AM.

Edward A. Teats, Jr. 86, of Columbia passed away on March 4, 2026 at Hospice & Community Care. Ed was born in Shamokin, PA to the late Edward and Mildred Teats.

He spent most of his life in the Lancaster area where he worked as a carpenter, manufacturing supervisor, various position in the construction industry and installed custom kitchens. Ed also designed and built three homes in which he lived throughout his life.

Over the years, Ed's passions included carpentry and fine woodworking, fishing, jigsaw puzzles, and bird watching. He also had an unparalleled love of trains and collecting unique pens and pencils. He was a devoted member of The Church of the Good Shepherd where he served in various positions and donated handmade pieces that remain in use. Ed loved being a father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a devoted husband to Sue Teats who pre-deceased him last year.

Ed leaves behind his daughters, Shelley Baum, Karen Morrison, wife of George and Kris Ricci, wife of John; stepsons in Colorado, Larry Recla, husband of Shari and Mark Recla, as well as 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, three nieces and his brother William Teats in Delaware. Ed was predeceased by his sister, Joan Trujillo and by his nephew, Scott Montgomery.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 750 Greenfield Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Saturday March 14, 2026 at 11AM with visitation beginning at 10AM.
