Edward Davis Trader, 89, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
Born on September 2, 1935, in Havelock, NC, Edward was the beloved son of the late John and Mary Trader. After completing high school, he honorably served in the United States Air Force for four years, demonstrating his commitment as a proud veteran.
A man of deep faith, Edward attended St. Egbert’s Catholic Church. His kindness and compassion were seen throughout his life, through his extensive volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity in Newport, where he positively impacted the lives of many.
Edward will be remembered as a loving husband of 60 years, a wonderful father, and a proud grandfather who loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pat Trader; daughters, Sheri Warfield of Reisterstown, MD and Lisa Eakes (Matt) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; sisters, Annie Lou Schmalbeck of Illinois, Margaret Trader of Havelock, NC and Jackie Backus of Indian Wells, CA; and grandchildren, Mackenzie, Morgan, and Ella.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward’s memory to the Crystal Coast Habitat for Humanity, Inc., 5898 US-70, Newport, NC 28570.
