Ed and I were great friends. Inseparable for many years, going to concerts, playing sports all day, listening to music, getting into trouble, we always had each other´s backs. As kids we explored all the surrounding woods and cat frog´s turtles salamanders and Ed not me would catch snakes and we would release them and make pets out of some. Once when delivering newspapers I found a gigantic snapping turtle. I didn´t want to handle it so without hesitation I went right to Ed. This thing was enormous and we made a pet of him for weeks before we released him. His name was Gigantor named after the cartoon robot. Ed taught me a lot about nature and fishing. We did a good deal of fishing and he unhooked every catfish I ever caught. I was too afraid of the stingers. He only got stung once and I caught literally hundreds in lake Lefferts. Ed was also funny beyond the telling of it and loved to laugh and we laughed to tears often.
I didn´t see Ed in recent years but we have a great history together. I loved Ed and will never forget him and our many years together.
