Edward Trinka Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 8, 2025.
Edward "Ed" Trinka, born March 5, 1973 in New York City, died on December 4, 2025. Ed moved through life with a mix of grit, humor, and stubborn loyalty that shaped every role he held as a partner, father, brother, and friend.

He was predeceased by his mother, Isa Trinka, whose influence he carried with him throughout his life.

He is survived by his partner, Michelle Maher, who shared his daily joys and challenges; his children Holly (and her partner Joe), Alexis (and her wife Alex), Nicholas, Angelina, Mackenzie, and Isabella, each of whom he loved fiercely and spoke about with unmistakable pride; his brother Michael Trinka (and Michael's wife Tara), and their son Mattix; and his father, Edwin Trinka, who remained a steady presence in his life.

Ed loved being outdoors and could find peace in simple places: a campsite, a swimming hole, or a quiet stretch of woods. Music was a constant companion, and he rarely passed up a chance to hear a live concert. He collected whatever sparked his curiosity, from games to small treasures that reminded him of moments or people he cared about.

Service was part of who he was. He volunteered at his local food pantry and church, and each holiday season he stood outside ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. He showed up because he believed it mattered.

But above everything else, Ed was defined by how deeply he loved his kids. They were the center of his world, the stories he told most often, and the source of his greatest pride.

He leaves behind a wide circle of people who will remember him for his devotion, his laugh, and the way he tried to make life a little better for the people around him.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Ed may contribute toward memorial arrangements and to supporting Michelle and the children with their living expenses.
