EDWARD L. WEBER, JR.
December 26, 2025
of Somers Point, New Jersey, and formerly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully on December 26, 2025, surrounded by those he loved most. Ed was the cherished husband of Gail (née Dissinger), devoted father of Melissa Kryjer (Edward), Edward Weber III (Patricia), and Gail Marie Elliott (Mark), and proud grandfather of James and Meghan Kryjer; Mark, Christian, and Abigail Elliott; and Edward IV, Jack, and Molly Weber. He is also survived by four siblings, Kathleen (Alexander), Constance (Eugene), Dolores (John) and Robert (Mary). Ed was predeceased by his sister and brother, Mary Jane and Christopher. Ed was a graduate of Holy Child Grade School and Cardinal Dougherty High School. He went on to build a long and honorable career as a union plumber with Plumbers Union Local 690. He also proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, spending six years in the reserves. In 1968, he married his neighborhood sweetheart, and together they raised three beautiful children and built a life rooted in love and family. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Ed was a devoted Phillies and Eagles fan. His first passion, however, was horse racing, and he spent countless hours at Philadelphia Park and the Atlantic City Racetrack. His love of the sport took him to Kentucky, Baltimore, and New York to experience the Triple Crown races. After retiring to South Jersey, Ed remained very active. He enjoyed cruising aboard the Cunard Queens to various destinations with Gail and met many wonderful friends. He found joy in gardening and took up golf, playing in a league at Greate Bay Country Club, where he formed many lasting friendships. Ed treasured quiet mornings with Gail on the Ocean City Boardwalk, sipping coffee and reading the New York Post. He also enjoyed long walks on the grounds of Greate Bay with his dog, Schoutzie. Relatives, friends, and members and retirees of Plumbers Union Local 690 are invited to attend a visitation with the family on Saturday, January 3rd at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 606 Shore Road, Somers Point, NJ 08244, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations of blood or platelets to the
