Edward Wesley Obituary

BRISTOL

Edward Ed Wesley, a lifelong resident of Bristol, and a talented electronics engineer, passed away peacefully at Bristol Hospital on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on September 8, 1947, in Bristol, Ed was the son of the late Carl and Joanna Suchodolski. He was a proud product of Bristol schools. He continued his education at the University of Hartford's Ward School of Electronics, where he earned his degree, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in technology. Ed began his professional journey in the 1970's at Carson Laboratories, contributing to the early development of laser technology. He later applied his engineering talents as an electronics engineer at Napco, Inc. before concluding his career at LeGrand Wiremold, where he served as the UL Test Lab Manager until his retirement in 2005. To all who knew him, Ed was the ultimate fixer. With an innate mechanical and electrical aptitude, there wasn't a problem he couldn't diagnose or repair. He was the person family and friends instinctively called upon for any challenge, big or small. In retirement, Ed embraced a slower pace that was rich with activity. He was an avid fan of UCONN Women's Basketball. He dedicated several days a week to his passion for golf, playing rounds with his beloved wife, Linda. The couple treasured their time at their property on Lake Waramaug, where they spent many weekends entertaining friends and family. Ed was predeceased by his parents and the love of his life, his wife, Linda (Taillon) Wesley with whom he spent 45 happy years of marriage. He is survived by his devoted son, Brad, who will continue to honor his memory. In addition to his son, Edward leaves his extended family: Anthony and Christine Taillon, Kenny, Lynn and Jeffery Taillon, Lee, Linda and Kevin Karwoski, Christine DeCarlo, Robert Such, Steve and Janice Deveau. Edward also leaves his cherished companion Mary Pat Goodwin. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (November 5, 2025) at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, 510 West St., Bristol. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Stanislaus Church, ATTN: Youth Ministry, 510 West St., Bristol, CT 06010. Funk Funeral Home is honored to serve the family. Please visit Edward's memorial page at www.FunkFuneralHome.com.

I was saddened to read of Ed´s passing. I had the pleasure of working with him at Napco. He was a well respected, true gentleman and will be deeply missed by family and friends. I´ll never forget when he lived on Alba Drive he gifted me with tomato plant stakes.
May his soul rest in peace and may his family find comfort in the days ahead.
Sincerely,
Barbara P. Norton
