Edward Wheelecor Obituary

Edward L. Wheelecor, 77, of Side Lake, formally of Chisholm, died Wednesday, Nov.r 14, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 13, 1930 to Edward and Irma (Mitchell) Wheelecor in Hibbing, Minn. Ed grew up and attended school in Chisholm, graduating in 1948. He served in the Navy and the Air Force. Ed was united in marriage to Lorraine Lehman on Dec. 31, 1955. He was employed by the First National Bank of Chisholm eventually becoming President and CEO. He retired in 1994 and continued to serve on the Board of Directors until his death. Ed was a member of the Chisholm United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Past President of the Chisholm Blueline Club, the Chisholm Curling Club, and was instrumental in the building of the Chisholm Hockey Arena and Curling Club. He was a charter member of the Dreamer's hunting shack. He also belonged to many other organizations. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, berry picking, carpentry, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him great joy. He will be remembered for many things, but especially his sense of humor. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; his five children, Susan Wheelecor, George (Robin) Wheelecor, William (Sandra) Wheelecor, Corrine (Paul) Centa, and Rebecca (Charles) Lake; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Amanda (Chris), Chelsea (Derek), Eric, Cassie (Gene), Matthew, Mitchell, Madason, Nicholas, Courtney, and Nathan; three great-grandchildren, Peyton, Quinn, and Spencer; his brother, Bob (Betty) Wheelecor and his sister, Carol (Ed) Broom; and numerous nieces and nephews. VISITATION:6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007 in the Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service Chapel in Chisholm and will continue on Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 in the Chisholm United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Services will be held in the church on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastors Barb Hegfors and Jack Harris officiating.
