Edwin D. Benfer, 78 of Miltonvale, Kansas died on Wednesday, November 25, 2025 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
Edwin was born July 14, 1947 in Clay Center, Kansas, the son of John D. and Letha (Plock) Benfer. He grew up in Longford, Kansas and graduated from Longford High School. After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After he returned from his military service, Ed farmed in the Miltonvale, Kansas area. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Sarah and husband, Josh Clayton of Downingtown, PA; 2 grandchildren, Savannah and Josie Clayton; sisters, Phyllis and husband Lyle Berges of St. George, KS and Joyce and husband Gene Oliver of Round Rock, TX; brothers, Philip and wife Carol Benfer, Dwight and wife Pam Benfer and Kevin and wife Karen Benfer all of Longford, KS.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 1:30PM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Clay Center, Kansas.
Visitation will be held on Monday December1, 2025 from 12:30PM until service time at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Swartwood Cemetery in rural Longford, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Savannah and Josie Clayton educational fund and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
