Edwin Paul Mattlé, "Ed or Mattle", 65, of Rock Hill, SC and formerly of Orlando, Fl, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, October 13, 2025 at the hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 21,1960, in Harbor City, CA, the third child and youngest son of Earl Charles Mattlé II from Buffalo, NY and Maria Esther Diaz Mattlé from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother and nephew; Earl Charles Mattlé III (Big Charlie), and Earl Charles Mattlé IV (Little Charlie)
Ed will be remembered as a man with an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He was a family man who always relished time spent entertaining family and friends, always cooking more than enough delicious food. Born in California and raised in Puerto Rico then moved to Texas for his teen years. He got his jokester personality from his mother as well as his social personality. His love for aviation was instilled in him at a young age from his father who was a helicopter/pilot instructor. After graduating from South Houston High School in 1979, Ed later enlisted in the Marine Corp of the United States in 1980 where he learned discipline and to be self-sufficient. The lessons he learned in the Marine Corp followed him throughout his life. He later met the love of his life while working at George W Bush airport, and later married Cinthia V Rosado in Houston, TX on September 16, 1989.
A vast appreciation for fishing, hunting, and shooting. Ed’s favorite place to be was in the woods where he would take his family camping any chance he got. He enjoyed waking up in the morning with a cup of coffee while watching the sunrise on the porch and then ending the day watching the sunset on the porch with a glass of wine. Most important to him was his family and he will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.
He leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by his wife, Cinthia Mattlé of 36 years of Rockhill, SC; eldest child and daughter, Shelby Mattlé of Oviedo, FL; youngest child and son, Alexander Mattlé and wife Chloe of Norfolk, VA; Sister, Ella Mattlé and husband, Juan Trinidad of Orlando, Fl; Sisters in law, Linette Mitchell and husband, Frank with family of New Waverly, TX, Sandra Lopez Mattlé of Pasadena, TX; Nieces, Jennifer Tremont and husband Matt with family of Pearland, TX, Mindy Cantu and husband Eric with family of Houston, TX; Nephew, Joel Trinidad of Orlando, FL and a host of extended family, coworkers, and friends.
