Edwin Mueller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 16, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edwin M. Mueller "Chief", who passed away peacefully on February 11th, 2025, at the age of 67. Ed was born in Okinawa, Japan in 1957 while his father served in the United States Army, and moved to the US while he was a young child.
Chief was deeply loved by his family, friends, and all that were fortunate enough to know him. He lived a life of dedication to many by contributing to many non-profit organizations. On record, Chief was the longest standing Commander for the Son's Of The American Legion Post 80 for 15 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles Club, and many others throughout his lifetime. He had a joy for cooking, singing, the comradery of friends, and of course a great golf game. His joyful spirit, generosity, friendship, will be deeply missed.
Ed's greatest joy was his daughter Gia, and his grandchildren: Aiva, Dylan, and Jaxon. He took extraordinary pride in all of their accomplishments and treasured every moment spent with them. Though he is no longer with us, his love and legacy will be carried on with them.
Ed was predeceased by his mother Keiko Mueller. He is survived by his beloved family; father, Edwin L. Mueller; daughter and son-in-law Gia and David Bergman; grandchildren, Aiva, Dylan, and Jaxon; siblings, Jeff (Colleen) Mueller, Linda Middleton, and Robert Mueller; along with several nieces.
The family will welcome friends on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025 from 5 pm to 7pm. Located at Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, 137 Robinson St, Binghamton, NY. A private burial service will be held for immediate family only. All friends are invited to join us in a celebration of life on Wednesday February 19th, 2025 at the American Legion Post 80 at 5 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the Retired Professional Fire Fighters Cancer Fund, 4 Loretta Dr., Binghamton, NY 13905. www.letsfirecancer.org

I knew Ed´s mother and father very well as they were friends of my parents, when Chief friended me, I knew he was too young to be the same who I knew from the Moose Lodge, the Elks Lodge, etc. His mom made the best tempura, if he was anything like his parents he was okay with me. Sorry to hear of his passing.
