Edwin Oevermann

 

Edwin Erwin Oevermann, 85, of Brenham, TX, died on October 1, 2023.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 6, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby with Pastor John David Nedbalek. Burial will follow at Mayer Cemetery.

Edwin was born on May 31, 1938 in Burton, TX to August Henry and Elsie Henrietta Jaster Oevermann. He married his wife, Gladys Pearl Wagner, on November 17, 1962.

Edwin was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby. He worked as a construction manager in the fencing industry and he served in the National Guard.

Edwin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carolyn Oevermann of Round Top, TX; grandchildren, Jess Pharis and husband Jared, and Brady Hallford; great-grandchildren, Kate and Logan Hallford, and Piper and Stone Pharis; sisters, Natalie Ginn and Rose Kenjura; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Oevermann and Valeria Oevermann and numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece, Michelle Thraen.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys Oevermann; daughter, Emilie Oevermann; brothers, George Oevermann, Charlie Oevermann, Otto Oevermann, Harold Oevermann, Sonny Oevermann, Lewis Oevermann; sister-in-law, Voncille; brothers-in-law, Gerry Ginn and Bernard Kenjura.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Pitts, Curt Roesler, Ruddy Parisher, Rudy Tiemann, Monte Cole, and Bob Burk. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the staff and caregivers at Silversage.

Along with the staff of Silversage, the family would like to also specially thank the staff and nurses at Acara Hospice for their loving care of Mr. O.
