Edwin Renz

Edwin Renz, 79, Bismarck died December 25, 2007 at St. Vincent's Care Center.  

       Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Church of St. Mary in Bismarck with Charlie Heidt officiating.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Moffit Cemetery.

       Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 pm.  

       Edwin was born on May 17, 1928, on the farmstead near Braddock, the son of Charles and Ernestine (Fischer) Renz.  They moved to a farm west of Hazelton in 1936 where Eddie attended schools and then moved to a farm near Moffit where he attended school in Moffit.  Eddie farmed west of Moffit and also worked as a heavy equipment operator for Burleigh County.  He worked for several construction companies and was noted for his excellent work on various projects including the BSC Bowl and area land developments.  In later years, he worked for several Moffit area farms.  Although a quiet man, Eddie had a quick wit and a dry sense of humor.  He also enjoyed playing the accordion.

       He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ann Schweitzer of Lisbon, ND, Darnell Nicholson of Sterling, ND, and Lynette (Curt) Wehri of Bismarck, ND; his sons, Ronald Renz (Laura Beller) of Moffit, ND, Donald Renz of Loveland, CO, David (Linda) Renz of Lubbock, TX, Daniel Renz of Bismarck, ND, Patrick (Connie) Renz of Bismarck, ND, and Timothy (Gwen) Renz of Hazelton, ND; 25 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Esther (Reinhold) Schauer of Bismarck, ND.

       Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ted, Ernest, Calvin, and Benjamin; and his sisters, Hilda and Emma.
