Edwin L. Roswell, III, also known as Ed, Eddie and to family Bud or Buddy, aged 86, passed away after a short illness on October 30, 2025.

Edwin was born in Gorgas, Alabama October 28, 1939 to his parents, Edwin L. Roswell, Jr and Beatrice Winship (Kirby) Roswell. He lived in Alabama, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, West Long Branch and Lincroft, New Jersey.

His education was West Long Branch Grammar School class of 1953, Long Branch High School class of 1957 and Drexel University (BS EE). He retired 1994 from the US Army Research and Development Laboratories, Ft. Monmouth, NJ.

His introduction to electronics was the LBHS Radio Club and the Garden State Amateur Radio Club. He also held the FCC First Class Commercial License and the FCC Amateur Radio Extra Class License K2MGM.

He was a life member of the National Amateur Radio Organization - the American Radio Relay League. Eagle Scout - Class of 1954, Troop / Explorer Post 39 Long Branch, NJ.

Edwin was methodical, humble and had a very dry sense of humor. He enjoyed various activities of amateur radio, gardening, photography, bird watching, tracing family genealogy, target shooting, reloading, and working with the alumni committee of the LBHS Class of 1957.

Eddie would meet with his engineer friends who worked at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, every Monday afternoon for lunch at the Blue Swan Restaurant in Ocean, New Jersey.

Eddie, a proud Apple computer owner, would meet his friends who shared his passion for Apple computers monthly for lunch at Jamesons Restaurant or the IHOP in Neptune, New Jersey.

Eddie, an avid bird watcher and birdhouse builder, had a passion for observing and creating habitats for birds. Eddie, an avid marksman, had been a long-time member of the Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club, situated in Jackson, New Jersey. He was also a member of the local Masonic Lodge.

Edwin was married to the late Lillian Irene (Rogner) Roswell. They lived in Lincroft, NJ.

Edwin is survived by his brother Charles K. Roswell and cousin Phyllis (Kirby) Ramsey and a number of nephews and nieces. Predeceasing Edwin were his sisters, Esther Ruth Ramsey, and Beatrice Andrea Osborne.

Arrangements are private and under the direction of Thompson Memorial Home of Red Bank, NJ. Your memories of Eddie appreciated.
