Effie Valentine Fields passed away on December 24, 2022. She was born on February 2, 1931 at home on Turkey Mountain to Minne Lou Taylor and John Thomas Mainard, the youngest of seven children, and grew up in Glenpool, Oklahoma. She married George B. Fields on August 30, 1952 in Paris, Arkansas. They moved back to Glenpool in 1960, raised their family there and were very active in the community.
Effie worked for several years at Vandevers Mens Store before retiring. She was a devoted Christian and volunteered at First Baptist Church until she was in her 80's. She is survived by her two sons, Darrell Wayne and wife Linda, Michael Ray and wife Peggy, three grandchildren, Crystal Dawn Nicholson, Christopher Scott Fields, Colette Michelle Kearney, step-grandson Justin Plum, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
