Eileen M. Dietz, 82, of Marshfield, Massachusetts, (formerly of Endwell, New York) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer.

Eileen was the daughter of the late Patrick Regan and Bridget (O'Brien) Regan. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, William Dietz, her sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Joseph McAvoy of Connecticut, her brother Patrick Regan of Kentucky and her brother and sister-in-law William and Mary Ellen Regan of New York. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Laura Kemp (Chris) of Pembroke, Massachusetts; Kristin Zuhlke (Don) of Johns Creek, Georgia; and Jennifer Gustafson (Scott) of Canton, Massachusetts.

A life long New Yorker, Eileen spent her early career working at IBM in Manhattan. She began her family in Westchester, NY and moved around the state with Bill's career at IBM, finally settling in Endwell. She built a life centered around her family. A die-hard Yankees fan always cheering on her teams which included the Buffalo Bills and the Syracuse Orange. She created lasting friendships during her time working at the Bon Ton.

A devoted and loving grandmother, Eileen leaves behind nine grandchildren: Nicholas Gustafson, Justin Kemp, Casey Gustafson, Ryan Gustafson, Katie Kemp, Caroline Zuhlke, Lily Kemp, Samantha Gustafson, and Christopher Zuhlke. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Allaire of Connecticut; her sister-in-law, Lynn Regan of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends.

Eileen especially loved her vacations in Atlanta, Boston and Maine, where family trips were filled with shopping, games, beach days, and simply enjoying time together. During her visits to Boston and Atlanta, she was the loudest to cheer on her grandchildren from the sidelines, bleachers and from the audience of various dance performances. Some of the most treasured memories were made around her kitchen table in Endwell-a place filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations, and years of wisdom generously shared. She was an avid reader with a sharp mind for word games, and there was always a cup of hot tea and a piece of chocolate ready to be enjoyed by anyone who stopped over. Mom was a skilled shopper and never backed down from a sale. She was an old movie aficionado and could often be found listening to Frank Sinatra. Eileen had a fierce and abiding love for her family and for this we are incredibly grateful.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Our Lady of the Angels Church in Hanover, Massachusetts.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to an organization close to her heart, Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
