Mass of Christian Burial for Eileen Doom, 76, of Tracy, formerly of Marshall, will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. with a CCW Rosary at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at the remembrance center. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. A livestream and recording of the service will be available at www.holy-redeemer.com.
Eileen Doom, 76, of Marshall, MN was born Eileen Schwab on March 11, 1947 in Redwood Falls, MN. She grew up in Wabasso, MN, the daughter of Ruben and Helen Schwab and the oldest of six children. Eileen graduated from St Anne Area High School in 1965 and attended Mankato Commercial College, graduating in 1966. She became a valued employee of Schwan’s Sales Enterprises for many years retiring in 2013.
Eileen married Ronald Doom in 1975 and together they worked the family farm in Stanley Township near Marshall. It was there she and Ronald raised their three children, Jeffrey, Kristi, and Gregory. She was a devoted member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Throughout her life she enjoyed many get togethers and conversations with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. They were her "Sweet Angels" that she cherished and loved as she watched them play and grow. Eileen enjoyed traveling and talked of many fun times with her coworkers who became her lifelong friends. She was a compassionate listener with a wonderful sense of humor and warm contagious laugh. She will be missed as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her.
Eileen passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy, MN. Eileen is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Sarah) Doom, Brookings, SD, Kristi (Isaac) Larson, Del Mar, CA and Gregory (Carrie) Doom, Cambridge, MN, and grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jonathan, Joseph and Ainsley. Sisters, Joan Kinney (Bill), Rosie Ruhr (Roger), brothers, Jack Schwab (Jacob) and Dan Schwab (Shirlene), three sisters-in-law, many cousins, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald, parents Ruben and Helen, and sister Marian.
