One summer, when my family was visiting relatives in Michigan, my sisters and I got to swim in Eileen's pool. I think I was about 8 years old; my two sisters would have been 5 and 3. We had a splendid time playing with the floating toys while my mom and aunt Eileen chatted. Suddenly, the float my sisters had been hanging onto slipped away from them. Instinctively, they began pushing down on each other's shoulders to get their heads above the water. I was stunned, watching one sister bobbing up while the other sunk under and then vice versa. On the other hand, Eileen went into full lifeguard mode: she kicked off her shoes, jumped into the pool, and rescued both girls! I suppose I have Eileen to thank for not growing up as an only child. :-)

Eileen has been our accountant for over 20 years. I was a little nervous when I firs met her as she was my husband's accountant first, but she was very gracious and put me at ease immediately. She was funny, perceptive and a good listener. She quickly became more than our accountant. She became our friend.

Eileen was an invaluable member on The Barn Theatre, serving on our Board of Directors and as our CPA. She also volunteered every day in the office for several years as customer service. She loved working with our patrons and was the best ambassador we could have. She was kind, compassionate, funny and ever so interesting. We will miss her.

Eileen and I attended several performances at the Port St. Lucie HS over the years and followed it up with dinner. It was a very enjoyable day and I will miss her warm smile and gentle ways. Always helpful. Carole Taitt
