Eileen M. Lyman

Eileen M. Lyman, 68, of Ararat Twp., died Saturday, January 11th at home surrounded by family after her battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Lyman, as well as her nine children; Robert Haggerty, Nathan Piercy, Virgil Piercy, Bernadette Piercy, Amanda Campbell, Nicholas Piercy and wife Dorothy, Ann Wilbur, Jennifer Brown, Billie Jean Wilbur, along with stepdaughter Brenda Lyman. She is also survived by granddaughters Ashley and Brianna Wallace who also called her Mom, along with many other grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Born in Butler, NJ, daughter of the late Clarence and Roberta Morse Haggerty, she attended the East Ararat Community Church. She enjoyed fishing, yard sales, and traveling with her husband over the road. Christmas was her favorite holiday to spend with her family. Eileen devoted her life to raising and caring for family. She enjoyed hosting family dinners for all to enjoy. She was a strong willed woman and will always be remembered for her strength and her delicious home cooked meals.
Also surviving are her sister Sharon Vanderhoff and brother James Haggerty.
She was also preceded in death by her sister Kathleen Nicholson, brother Michael Haggerty, mother-in-law Beulah Lyman, and son-in-law Andrew Brown.
The funeral will be Thursday January 16th with services at 5 pm by Pastor Jen Russell in the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City. Spring interment, East Ararat Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, from 2 pm until service time.
