Eileen (Hatter) Maziarz, 82 years old, Summitville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in
Marion, Indiana. She was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to the late Harold F. and Mary (Kelly) Hatter.
Eileen was raised in Duryea, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Duryea High School and Wilkes Business College. It was at Duryea High School, at the age of 14, that Eileen met the love of her life, Tom Maziarz.
Tom and Eileen were best friends and true partners in life, celebrating 62 years of marriage in May. Together they raised three children: Tom, Diane, and Matt. Tom and Eileen started their lives together building their first home in Glendale, Pennsylvania, but it was not their last. They lived in Ohio, California, Florida, and Indiana--jokingly leaving kids in a few states along the way. Tom and Eileen shared many adventures throughout their marriage, with their cottage in Bedford holding a special place in their hearts.
After graduating from Wilkes Business College, Eileen worked for Bell Telephone and Kings College. When the family moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Eileen enjoyed working for the RCA Corp in the payroll department for several years, ending her career in the banking industry while living in Indiana.
While Eileen enjoyed her career, her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and, most recently, great-grandmother. Her kind nature, generosity, endless love, and support of her family will never be forgotten.
Eileen's love of her family was only rivaled by the friendships she shared with her siblings. As a young mother, Eileen and her siblings worked together with their father in their small family business, Top Hatter Ceramics. Always eager to gather together to create memories--playing cards for hours, hosting or traveling to "sister week", or just to lend a caring ear--Eileen could light up a room.
Eileen is survived by her husband, Thomas Maziarz; children, Thomas David Maziarz, Diane (Steve) Reed, and Matthew Maziarz; grandchildren, Abigail (JD) Hess, Grayson (Shannon Hallowell) Hirst, Ryan Maziarz, Jessica Maziarz, and Sebastian Maziarz; great-grandson, Forrest Hirst; siblings, Roberta Macarchick, Karen (John) Lacomis, Linda (Robert)Rava, and Harold (Mary) Hatter; and sisters-in-law, Mercedes Hatter and Barbara (Jim) Victor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Hatter; brother-in-law, Joseph Macarchick; and father/mother-in-law, Thomas and Regina Maziarz.
A celebration of life is planned for a later date.
