"Eileen Mortensen" IRON MOUNTAIN - Eileen Mortensen, 94, of Iron Mountain, formerly of Amboy, Ill., died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, Wis. She was born on June 3, 1911, in Chicago, daughter of the late Thomas and Kathryn (Faley) Waters. She was a graduate of Alvernia High School in Chicago. She married Henry Mortensen on June 24, 1939, in Chicago and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1991. They lived most of their lives in Amboy and Dixon Ill., where she worked for the county clerk's office. Eileen has been a resident of Iron Mountain since 1986. She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church and a former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy, Ill. She enjoyed writing, playing bridge and other card games, playing golf, and was an avid reader but what she cherished most was her time with family. She is survived by a son, James (Mary) Mortensen of Apopka, Fla.; a daughter, Mary (Ted J.) Fornetti of Iron Mountain; six grandchildren: Ted (Kristy) Fornetti of Norway, Paul (Angela) Fornetti of Milwaukee, Wis., Kathryn (Adam) Husing of Norway, John Mortensen of Apopka, Fla., Michael (Andrea) Mortensen of Battle Creek, lower Michigan., Jennifer (Cory) Olson of Anguilla, British Commonwealth and three great-grandchildren, Lauren Mortensen, Max and Maria Fornetti. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Arthur Waters. Visitation will be today from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Kingsford. The Funeral Mass will be at 5 p.m. at the church. Fr. Michael Woempner will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Pall bearers will be Adam Husing, Michael Mortensen, Paul Fornetti, and Ted Fornetti. Burial will be in Cemetery Park. Memorials may be made in the memory of Eileen Waters Mortensen to Alverno College, 3400 S. 43rd Street, PO Box 343922, Milwaukee Wi. 53234-3922. Condolences may be expressed to the family of Eileen Mortensen online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com. The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the funeral arrangements.
