Elaina Marie Rogers 12/10/1966 - 12/16/2025
Treasured daughter of Peter Jr. (Elline), pre-deceased by her mother, Donna (Newhart), cherished sister to Peter III, David (Melanie), Paul (Jean) & Melissa (Joel), crazy aunt to beloved nephews Derrick (pre-deceased), Jeffrey, Thomas & Hunter, and cat mom to little Monkey & Lonnie. Elaina was a fiercely loyal and amazing friend, who spiritually touched everyone she came in contact with. Elaina left this world leaving behind a legacy of compassion and kindness. We will all miss her infectious cackle and animated stories.
She began her hospitality career as Supervisor of Housekeeping at the new Radisson Hotel in Burlington VT, where she excelled in all training programs they had to offer. As a lifelong local bar manager for far too many establishments to name, she proudly served the entire Ithaca community for decades with a sincere sense of purpose. She firmly believed everyone had a backstory that deserved to be heard and respected. She lived her life by the golden rule and never passed judgement on anyone. She had the unique ability to see the good in everyone and allow them to see the good in themselves.
Elaina enjoyed biking or walking around town and catching up with people she encountered during her travels. She was a talented artist and an extremely spiritual sole. She was known to perform Tarot card readings for her many followers. Her presence will be missed, but she would not want us to shed a single tear or be sad for her. She felt blessed in life and left this earthly world with no regrets. There is not one thing she would have changed. She asked that there be no formal services, all she wanted you to do was “get together and have a beer on her”. However, there will be an event in her honor to be announced at a future date. The next time music plays get up and dance in her honor. She would love that. Meow and Love.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Tompkins County SPCA, the Immaculate Conception Church, or a charity of your choice.
