Elaine Allen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home on Dec. 5, 2025.
Elaine Carolyn Allen, 95, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida.

Born on August 14, 1930, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Elaine was the daughter of Katherine and Raymond J. Leeds. She was raised in Atlantic City alongside her beloved younger brother, John. The family were active members of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and Elaine proudly followed family tradition by attending Atlantic City High School, just as her parents and brother had before her.

In 1952, Elaine married the love of her life, Euston Eukie Allen Sr. Together they built a warm and lively home at 311 North Dudley Avenue in Ventnor, New Jersey, where they raised their three children: Nancy Lynn (Michael Silver), the late Richard Euston, and Laurie Jean (Chris Candaffio).

Elaine enjoyed a fulfilling professional life, working in real estate at Lewis Realty before becoming an underwriter with Prudential Insurance Company. After she and Eukie began wintering in Fort Myers Beach, Florida, Elaine devoted her later years to helping others as a volunteer at Lee Memorial Hospital a role she held with great pride.

Following Eukie's passing and the destruction of her condo during Hurricane Ian, Elaine found comfort and care in the loving home of Laurie and Chris in Fort Myers, where she lived surrounded by family until her passing.

Elaine is survived by her daughters, Nancy and Laurie; her grandchildren Nicholas (Jillian), Vincent, and her great-grandchildren, Cecelia and Aria. She is also survived by her nephews Steven Forrest (Lynn) and John Leeds (Bridget).

Elaine will be remembered for her love of crocheting, knitting, sudoku, crossword puzzles, pinochle, Frank Sinatra, the Ventnor Beach, the Margate Log Cabin, her sorority sisters, Chris's wonderfully prepared dinners, her unforgettable personality, her infectious laugh, and most enthusiastically her admiration for actor Bradley Cooper.

Elaine will be forever missed and always loved.

Cremation was provided by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home and Crematory. She will be reunited with Eukie during the spreading of her ashes in early summer.
