I was Elaine's college roomate for over 2 years, when we both attended University of Buffalo (now SUNYAB). What good times we had. She will certainly be missed.

Sorry to hear this sad news. She was our colleague at Florida State. Hans and I enjoyed trips to the beach with her in the good old days. Condolences to her family.

Iwrll always remember out conversations on the trails and her slightly mischievous Ftench greetings each morning in which dhe recruited Monique's participation. Then there were the times we shared meals including her special Frenh rabbit dinner. Nancy never knowingly ate rabbit, but this was an exception. Then there was a restaurant whose lamp was in

My husband's first wife had character. She was extremely intelligent and an independent individual. I remember being extremely irritated when Paul and Elaine spoke French and I had no idea what they wer÷ saying. Everyone in the family speaks fluent French except me, although I have been studying for years.

Good Morning,

I met your mother when i was hotel manager in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
She came every year. We had a great relationship. I cannot forget her smile.

I am sad this morning.

I'm so sorry to learn of Elaine's passing. She was a great influence on me at FSU, and that has paid dividends throughout the rest of my life so far. Without her, French would probably have just remained a fun hobby and interest of mine, but she and Antoine Spacagna convinced me that I should really pursue it, and so I came to really live French, day-in and day-out. This has led to a wonderful career, a deep passion for France and all things French, and meeting my wife, who was also one of Elaine's students.

But not only was Elaine a great educator and advocate for her students - she was also a wonderful friend. How many times did I share a meal with her in Tallahassee, or grab a falafel or crêpe with her in Paris? She, Monique, Antoine, and we students would always have such a fun time together. Beautiful memories, and ones that I'll always cherish.
