Elaine Sharon Dodd, 76, passed away August 30, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Caribou, the daughter of Charles and Evangeline (Tardiff) Dodd. She grew up with a deep love for her community and the people around her, building a life rooted in family, hard work and creativity.

Elaine had a remarkable gift for making the world around her more beautiful. She was especially skilled in woodworking, creating unique and meaningful pieces that decorated her home and reflected her talent and creativity. No matter what project, Elaine poured love and detail into her work, and her family treasures the many things she made by hand. She also enjoyed the outdoors, tending to her yard and gardens. She had an eye for making her surroundings warm, welcoming, and filled with life. Elaine was known as a hardworking and dedicated woman. She spent much of her career in the local potato industry, beginning with Potato Service and later working at McCain Foods until her retirement. She brought the same work ethic to her professional life as she did her home, she was respected for her dedication and friendships she built along the way.

Above all, Elaine will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her creativity, and her ability to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and beauty that will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children, each of whom brought immeasurable joy, Terry L. Thibodeau and husband David of Florida, Jerry L. McLaughlin Jr. and fiancée Melanie Harris of Caribou, and Debra R. Ouellette and husband Harold Jr. of Florida, her cherished grandchildren, Jamie St. Peter, Riley McDuffie, Spencer McDuffie, and Charles Harris II, her great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Lailah, and Ellie Gagnon. Her family was her pride and joy and she held each of them close to her heart.

Elaine’s spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten by anyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Private family graveside services will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery.
