Elaine E. Fischer

Elaine E. Fischer, age 87 of Suring, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Elaine was born on July 6, 1938 to the late Bernard and Agnes Reed. She grew up as the youngest of nine children in Custerdale, WWII defense housing project in Manitowoc where her father worked. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc with the class of 1956. On April 12, 1958, Elaine married Philip Fischer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manitowoc and Elaine moved to Suring where Philip was teaching. The couple made a home and raised their four children in Suring. Elaine worked at Vlasic Pickle Factory in Bonduel until its closing and then at the Ceramite Factory until its closing. She was a founding member of the Suring Lioness Club and was well known for her pies. Elaine was also very passionate about her work for the Suring Area Public Library on the library board. Elaine and Phil loved traveling and spending time with their grandchildren. She greatly enjoyed hosting her ever-growing family in her not growing house. Elaine was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Elaine is survived by her 4 children, Kathleen (Mark) Micoley, Karen (Jeffrey) Schneider, Philip Jr. (Tricia) Fischer, and Luke (Genny) Fischer; 11 grandchildren, Emily (David) Johnson, Jackie Desmond, Shawn (Shylo) Achtenberg, Sara (James Amelse) Achtenberg, Heidi (Jake) Ryan, Michael Schneider, April (Shamus) Mann, Grant (Chelsea) Fischer, Preston (Courtney) Fischer, Grace Fischer, Brianna (special friend Chris Revord) Gibbons; 12 great-grandchildren and two on the way; brother, Ed (Marie Jo) Reed; brother-in-law, Alois Van Dyn Hoven; sisters-in-law, 2 sisters, Mary (Bill) Meier and Peggy (Jeff) Seidl. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Sr.; siblings, Mary, Margaret, Cecilia, Bernard, Phillip, Dorothy, and Maury.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Suring from 9 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am with Father Antonio De Los Santos officiating.
