Bel Aire, Kansas - Elaine Marie (Cook) Fooshee, 87, departed this life May 31, 2021 at her home.
She was born October 14, 1933 on the family farm in Dickinson County, KS to Earl Cook and Elizabeth (Hertlein) Cook.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; brother Wayne Cook; sister Helen (Cook) Graf; and great-granddaughter Sarah Davis.
Elaine is survived by her husband Roland Fooshee; sons: Randall (Cathy) Fooshee of Derby; Douglas Fooshee of Wichita; Timothy (Kristen) Fooshee of Dallas, TX; daughters: Glenna Balsick of McPherson; Marcia Kanagy of Wichita; Elle (Rex) Casner of Wichita; brother Lynn Cook of Topeka; grandchildren: Katie (Gage) Berry, Garrett (Paige) Fooshee; Danielle (Richard) Roehrman, Nolan (Emily) Corne, Brittany Corne, Arielle (Lance) Davis, Christopher Fooshee; Ave Fooshee, Nicholas Fooshee; Jenna Balsick, Sydney Hunt; Amy (James) Dorsch, Sam Casner, Anna Casner, Grace Casner; great-grandchildren: Graham, Harper, Lena, David, Greyson, Evelyn, Lydia, Noah, Gavin, Arabella, Oliver, Issac, Elle, Bristol, Kahne, Charlotte, Simon and Frances as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Elaine graduated from Hope High School in 1951 and continued her education at Kansas State University. She married Roland Alvin Fooshee on June 19, 1954. They made their first home in California where Roland was stationed in the U.S. Navy. At the conclusion of his service in 1957, they returned to Kansas where they raised their family in Wichita. Elaine worked 26 years at Wichita State University retiring from the Vice President of Academic Affairs office as faculty records clerk in 1995.
Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021 at University United Methodist Church, Wichita. Graveside Committal Service at 3:00 p.m. Fairview Cemetery, Cheney.
