Elaine Glibert

Elaine Glibert, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at The Ohio State University Hospital. Born on a farm in Lucerne, Ohio, to Clarence and Sarah (Cunningham) Harris, Elaine lived a rich and meaningful life, leaving a lasting legacy of love, resilience, and humor.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Avarilla Gossett, Coretta Derringer, Marie Lyons and Robert Harris; and her devoted husband of 67 years, Maurice "Bud" Glibert. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Michael) Bailey of Williamstown, West Virginia, and son, Thomas (Sarah) Glibert of Green Valley, Arizona. Elaine's memory will live on through her grandchildren: Brian (Kim) Bailey of Simpsonville, South Carolina; Brent (Nev) Bailey of Parkersburg, West Virginia; Nikki (Nick) Orsborn of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Chris (Louella) Glibert of Carpenteria, California; Tad (Karly) Glibert of Norman, Oklahoma; and Alex (Kailey) Glibert of Tucson, Arizona; as well as seven cherished great-grandchildren.

Elaine and Bud raised their family in Mount Vernon, Ohio, where she worked for Dr. Roy Johnson and Medical Arts Pharmacy. In 1976, they relocated to Burkburnett, Texas, where she later retired from the office of Dr. Thomas Taylor in Wichita Falls. After retirement, Elaine and Bud moved to Williamstown, West Virginia, to be closer to their daughter. There, Elaine's commitment to service shone through her volunteer work with the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, where she proudly served as President.

Known for her resilience and strong work ethic, Elaine was a role model for her family. A cancer survivor, she faced life's challenges with courage and maintained her sharp sense of humor until the end.

At the time of her passing, Elaine resided at Elison Assisted Living of Marietta, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elaine's memory may be made to the Humane Society of Parkersburg, West Virginia, as pets were always an integral part of her life.
