Elaine King, age 92, of Frankfort, KS, passed away on March 28, 2026, at the Frankfort Community Care Home.
She was born on March 6, 1934, in San Pedro, California, to Winfield S. and Rachel R. (Johnson) Gobel. Elaine attended school in San Pedro, graduating in 1952. She continued her education at UCLA and Occidental College before beginning her career as a secretary at Gilfillen. It was there that she met her husband, and together they had three daughters. Elaine later became a stay-at-home mother before starting a career in real estate in 1974. She worked as a real estate agent until her retirement in 2010. Following her retirement, she moved to Frankfort.
Elaine enjoyed crosswords and puzzles, and she never passed up a good game of cards or a cruise in the country. She found joy in painting and expressing her creativity, and her love of music often had her singing along or dancing whenever the opportunity arose. Elaine cherished time spent visiting with friends, where her warm personality, quick wit, and contagious laughter made every gathering brighter. With her positive outlook on life and natural ability to make others feel at ease, she was truly the life of the party. Above all, Elaine was a devoted mother and grandmother who treasured time with her family.
Preceding her in death are her parents; and two siblings.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy (Ron) Vanderlugt, Olympia, WA, Nancy (Brad) Huddleston, Frankfort, and Michelle (Brett) Meehan, Agoura Hills, CA; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister; and grand-dogs, Otto and Walter.
A memorial fund has been established to the Frankfort Community Care Home. Memorials may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel, c/o Kinsley Mortuary, P.O. Box 147, Marysville, KS 66508.
